Dear ECSWE-member or dedicated parent-Invitation!
Does a National Parents/Friends Association exist in your country?
If not, do you believe it is should?
There are Steiner/Waldorf schools in more then 50 countries around the world, but only a few of them have organized national parents work. In Norway there has been a National Parents association since 1987, in Sweden since 1992 and in France since 2000.
We do believe that national parents associations can be of great help to strengthen Waldorf/Steiner schools in all countries. This is most certainly the case in those countries where there is an existing National Parents association.
· To support the work of the national association of schools it is of vital importance that the parents can be active co-players.
· The fight for the schools and their position in the society are much more likely to succeed when the parents take active part in this work.
Therefore - we invite you, or someone from your national school federation to bring an engaged and handpicked parent from your country, and participate in our workshop on this issue in Oslo September 25. We hope to give you tools and inspiration enough to start a national parents association kickoff.
On Friday September 24, we are happy to inform that Mr. Godi Keller, a heartwarming inspirator, writer and teacher, has agreed to lead a seminar titled "Every child deserves the best, - how can parents and teachers together give our children optimal opportunities?"
Warm welcome from the organizers and initiators of this meeting,
Mariam Franq from APAPS, France
Ann Kristin Wang and Hilde Lengali from the Norwegian Steiner Parents Association
Godi Keller representing all lucky Steiner/Waldorf pupils
Gry Alsos and Cathrine Nordli from the Norwegian Steiner School federation
